Why not spoil your horse with Homemade Horse Treats?

Recipes for Homemade Horse Treats:

Fruit Bites

3 cups oatflakes

1 cup Pinhead Oatmeal

1 cup white flour

2 cups apple juice

1 cup grated apple or carrot

Honey to sweeten (optional)

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Form rolls about 2cm in diameter and cut into 1cm thick slices. Put them on a baking try covered with baking paper. Bake for approximately 1 hour at 120-150°C. It is more about drying than baking them. Dry them for a few days before feeding them.

Herb Bites

Use the same recipe as above. Instead of apple or carrot use a cup of herbs like mint, chamomile, dandelion or a cough mixture.

Banana Bites

3 cups oatflakes

2 cups whole wheat flour

1 cup banana chips

3 tablespoons honey

2 cups of water

Dissolve the honey with the water and mix with the other ingredients. Form into a roll and cut into 1cm thick slices. Place them onto a baking tray covered with baking paper. Bake for approximately one hour at 120-150°C. Dry them for another few days before feeding them.
